MELUN VAL DE SEINE FENCING CAMP 2022

Cercle D’Escrime Melun Val de Seine (CEMVS) is one of France’s most successful fencing clubs, with a strong history of producing national and international champions that continues to this day. Following the success of the previous editions in 2019 and 2021, it is organizing a week long fencing camp open to both national and international fencers in foil.

CAMP CEMVS 2022

CAMP CEMVS sets out to offer a fun, educational and rewarding experience centered on improving your fencing skills. The Camp provides a special opportunity to learn and interact with some of the France’s top junior and senior fencing talents who will also be taking to the strips to show as well as talk about the techniques that make them champions, and give you a chance to fence against some of the best.

CEMVS is recognized by the International Fencing Federation as part of the Clubs’ Movement Initiative. The Initiative’s mission is to elevate the level and broaden the base of fencing worldwide by networking the established infrastructure of high-level clubs with guidance and support from the FIE. As a European representative organization, our goal is to provide comprehensive and world-class programs to develop top-level coaches, athletes and officials to promote the highest levels of self-sustaining fencing programs throughout Europe and the world. CAMP CEMVSis a prime example of this effort, targeting the development of the next generation of fencers.

CAMP CEMVS features a program of intensive fencing, skill developments and athletic training led by Olympic and World Champions and top French coaches. Foil participants will gain from direct interaction with world class fencers Wallerand Roger, Paul-Antoine de Belval, Jean Guillaume, all members of the CEMVS, and Armand Spichiger as well as coaches Amir Shabakehsaz, Patrice Lhotellier, Jesús Riaño Torres and Adeline Wuillème.

CAMP CEMVS also offers a strategic focus on Strength and Conditioning, offeringtraining and preparation under the guidance of Robin Hager, athletic coach to the French national fencing team at Insep.

Open to fencers between 8 and 20 years old, participants will be divided into groups on the basis of age and ability, ensuring targeted development and skills training suited to their level.

The Camp’s principal languages will be French and English.

Facilities & Catering:

The Camp will be held in the « Centre de Ressources d’Expertise et de Performances Sportives (CREPS) d’Ile de France, in Chatenay-Malabry close to Paris. Accommodation, athletic training and all outdoor activities will all be held there and fencing practice will take place in the dedicated fencing hall. The Camp is ideally located near Paris, an easy commute and close to public transport.

Accommodation will be in double rooms. All dormitories will have adult supervision.

Sanitary situation

The camp will be organized within the sanitary regulations at the time of the camp. These will be communicated to you closer to the camp and will also be in line with the rules and regulations of the French Federation.

It will be strictly forbidden to leave the premises of the camp during the camp, unless it has been previously officially approved.

Fees, Registration and Logistics

The Camp fees are €750. The fee includes accommodation and all meals. Travel to the CREPS de Chatenay-Malabry is the responsibility of the participant, but we can assist you in making suitable arrangements. Evening activities are also included in the fee.

Cancellation policy

The fencing camp will only go ahead if a minimum number of participants is reached. If not or if the current sanitary conditions call for it, the CEMVS reserve the right to cancel the training camp up and until the 30th of June 2022. If this was the case, all fees already paid will be reimbursed to the participants.

Fencers will be expected to arrive at the CREPS de Chatenay-Malabry on the 24th of July 2022 from 9am onwards. The Camp’s opening session and introduction will begin at 10am on that day. The Camp will conclude by 5pm on July 29th, with all fencers expected to vacate the facilities by that time.

The Camp welcomes fencers aged 8 onwards. Fencing and athletic equipment are the responsibility of the participant.
